AACC Celebrates 2017 Connections Dinner (+ Award Recipient Videos!)

The annual Connections Dinner is a time to reflect on the accomplishments of the Asian American community in St. Louis. Every year, we celebrate the new relationships formed between Asian professionals, companies, and those who are doing business in Asia. We had a lot to celebrate at our sold-out event this year, which was attended by 430+ guests and hosted by the beautiful River City Casino.

This year’s attendees included professionals from Boeing, Monsanto, Edward Jones, Enterprise, Washington University, and Maryville University among others. We also hosted special guests from the CEO Club in Vietnam, who traveled all the way to from Ho Chi Minh City to demonstrate their commitment to the Memorandum of Understanding signed last fall.

At the event, we acknowledged the accomplishments of our award recipients, Kei Pang and Anna Crosslin. Kei Pang, CEO for Nidec Motor Corporation, was named Executive of the Year’ for his professional and personal accomplishments in corporate America, shining as a great example and inspiration for Asian Americans in St. Louis and beyond. President and CEO of International Institute of St. Louis, Anna Crosslin, was awarded AACC Connector of the Year’ for her extensive efforts to integrate immigrants and refugees into the St. Louis community.

Another historic moment witnessed by all attendees was the signing of a new partnership between Enterprise Holdings (the parent company of the Enterprise Rent-A-Car we all know and love) and MP Logistics Vietnam. At this event, Peter Smith, Vice President of Global Franchising, signed an agreement with Minh Phuong Dang, CEO and founder of MP Logistics. This new partnership marks Vietnam as the very first country Enterprise is bringing its three popular brands Enterprise, National and Alamo into Asia.

This expansion is the result of a trade mission between St. Louis and Ho Chi Minh City led by our President, Al Li and AACC Vice President, Cuong Dang in the Fall of 2016

Under this agreement, MP Logistics will provide rentals under the Enterprise, National and Alamo brands, starting primarily with long-term rentals and eventually growing to include short-term services for business and leisure travelers.

Thank you to our partners, Regional Business Council and Enliven, our sponsors, and all those who attended.

Congratulations to our award recipients, Kei and Anna!
