White House National Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Leadership Summit

AACC board member and VP Qiaoni “Linda” Jing spoke at the National Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Leadership Summit at the White House on Nov. 13, 2018. The Summit was a joint event among White House Initiative on AAPI, U.S. Department of Commerce, and Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce & Entrepreneurship, convening leaders from corporate, federal government, and the AAPI business community together to learn, collaborate, and strategize ways in which to advocate for each other.

As the only speaker from the Heartland, Jing shared her journey of professional growth and her pride of working in agriculture and Bayer, feeding the world in a sustainable way while re-connecting with her farming root in China. Jing made her call for action to fellow AAPIs:

  • To actively cross-cultural-and-race understanding and collaboration for better growth for all ethnic groups, citing her learnings from leading Asian BRGs at General Motors and Bayer and pro-bono work as an Executive in Residence for University Missouri – St. Louis’ IMBA program.
  • To actively facilitate mutually beneficial economic empowerment between residence regions and Asian countries, citing effort and success of AACC of St. Louis.

Our vision is to be instrumental in connecting Asian American businesses and organizations in the St. Louis region as well as positioning this region to be internationally competitive.
