AACC Leads Trade Mission to Vietnam

Each year, the St. Louis Asian American Chamber of Commerce hosts a trade mission to a country in Asia to further explore economic opportunities for our members and the St. Louis region. Starting in 2014, former presidents and founders Johnny Wang and Alex Lee led a group of St. Louis businesses to Hong Kong. These trips open up opportunities for local companies to create more connections in Asia to do business while promoting economic development for the greater St. Louis area.

Al Li, AACC’s current president, along with our board member and resident connector of Vietnam, Cuong Dang, took a small group of St. Louis companies to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in November 2015 as a scouting trip. As we have seen the increase of a China +1 strategy from many multinational corporations around the world, Vietnam seems to have all eyes on it as an alternative to China. The trip was well received and we made many valuable connections with local companies to prepare for this year’s event.

This November, we are facilitating our first formal trade mission to Ho Chi Minh City in partnering with Vietnam CEO Club to host our delegates and connect with local business leaders, foreign investors, consulates and government officials. CEO Club Vietnam consists of the country’s 120 largest privately held member companies, which provide invaluable insights and business opportunities for those who are pursuing Vietnam as their next strategic move.
