Courtney Chen is a first-generation immigrant with a passion for law and serving the St. Louis community. Professionally, she is a real estate and construction attorney at Dentons. As a litigator, she represents clients through all stages of trial preparation and dispute resolution. As a transactional attorney, Courtney has represented clients, including institutional and industry leaders, who are property owners, general contractors, manufacturers, suppliers, architects, and lenders, in various types of commercial real estate projects.
Courtney has led many service projects and fundraisers that cater to the local community. She has provided hundreds of hours of pro-bono legal work that has permitted her to advocate for the rights of underrepresented individuals and non-profit organizations. She also serves in an active leadership capacity in several professional organizations, including as a board member for the Missouri Asian American Bar Association (MAABA), Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis’s YLD (BAMSL), and as an elected council member for the Missouri Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Section. During her time at MAABA, Courtney has designed and introduced a scholarship program, SERVE STL (this year’s scholar has been selected and will be announced at Unity Dinner on 4/25/24), which encourages law students to engage in community service projects and pursue careers in public interest. Courtney is well involved in several trial advocacy programs in St. Louis, including serving as the head trial team coach at her alma mater, St. Louis University School of Law (SLU LAW), planning the Regional National Trial Competition 2024, and volunteering for BAMSL’s High School Mock Trial Competition.
In her personal life, Courtney is a mother, foodie, and enjoys traveling.
